95 percent of Indian mobile users now receiving spam calls daily says survey

This has been revealed in a survey released recently. According to the survey, about 95% Indians are now facing unwanted calls and messages on a daily basis. Even in the last 6 months, these cases have increased significantly. Also, the DND feature present in the phone is also not proving to be helpful in stopping such calls.

Recently LocalCircles has conducted a survey, according to which 95% Indian mobile users are getting spam calls daily. Scammers are also adopting new methods to cheat people. According to the survey, 77% mobile users are getting such calls at least three times a day. Such calls are coming from the financial sector including home loans, credit cards. The survey states that in the last 6 months, such cases have increased from 54% to 66%.

DND feature is not working

The Do Not Disturb feature provided by smartphone and telecom companies is also not working now. People are very upset with spam calls and messages. At the same time, scammers are also adopting different methods to cheat people.

TRAI is going to take concrete steps

Let us tell you that TRAI had instructed telecom companies to stop promotional messages. Its deadline was 1 September. But now its deadline has been extended to 1 October 2024. TRAI wants to curb fake and spam calls soon. TRAI had said that if any entity misuses its SIP / PRI lines to make spam calls, then all telecom resources of the entity will be disconnected by its telecom service provider (TSP). Not only this, that entity will also be blacklisted.
